Fried tomato is an antioxidant.

March 17th, 2017 Posted by Naturtips 0 comments on “Fried tomato is an antioxidant.”

Tomatoes are high in many nutrients that are not destroyed by heat. After cooking, tomatoes retain vitamin C and minerals. When fried or boiled, they even contain a higher source of lycopene, a carotenoid pigment and powerful antioxidant that can be easily seen as the dominant colour of the tomato, i.e. red.

Increasingly, studies demonstrate the potential role of lycopene for human health due to its antioxidant properties and anti-radical activity that avoid cellular damage and prevent cardiovascular disease, some cancers (prostate) and, in general, the ageing process. Some studies also attest to the fact that it boosts the immune system.

#NaturTip: The assimilated quantity of lycopene and its efficacy depend on tomato maturity, variety and cooking.

APIS fried tomato is made with top-quality tomatoes irrigated with water from the Guadiana river and packaged within 6 hours from their harvest.

Tomato contains the highest source of lycopene, although it is also found in other fruits and vegetables, such as apricot, watermelon, papaya and pink grapefruit.

Beber dos litros de agua al día

Taking this into consideration, it is a very small investment that bring us great benefits.

-Charles Duhlig

The Importance of Good Rest

La importancia del descanso

According to scientists from the universities of Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, Manchester and Surrey, not sleeping enough can lead to severe health problems.

Cancer, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, infections and obesity are directly linked to insufficient rest.

Our biological clock originates from our evolutionary past, when we were active during the day and slept at night. Throughout the day, our alertness levels, mood, physical force and even the risk of heart attack may change.

Light is the most important timer for our internal biological clock

Energy-saving light bulbs, as well as mobile phones, pads and computers, provide higher light levels in the blue end of the spectrum, which is “at the right spot” where it affects the biological clock.

“Light exposure, specially to short-wavelength blue light, modifies our rhythm, thus delaying melatonin release and making it more difficult to wake up in the morning”.

#NaturTip: Try to live to the rhythm of environment and avoid light before bedtime because it affects sleep and our natural biological clock.

Reading a book or drinking a hot beverage may help sleep.
